Global Payments & Services Division in NTT DATA, is pleased to announce its decision to implement organisational and personnel changes, effective April 1, as detailed below.

GP&S Division has been providing payment processing and gateway services for merchants and financial players mainly in Asia for the past decade, along with payment group companies and Japan’s long term experiences in the retail payment sector.

In order to support more advanced services for global and regional merchants, and also to provide in-depth and delicate services for local merchants, the organisational change involves two important elements.

One is Global Business Group to provide cross border payment services for global and regional merchants, tightly aligning with NTT DATA Hong Kong. Another is ASEAN Business Group to offer country-by-country specific payment expertise to for local merchants, along with local experts e.g. VietUnion, iPay88, Atom Technologies and strategic partners. Also, Global Business Strategy Office handles all the global payments strategy and strategic alliances for further growth.

Khye Wei Poon will be appointed as Head of Global Business Group in GP&S Division in NTT DATA HQ, remaining Head of Payment Division in NTT DATA Hong Kong. Also, he will act as COO in NTT DATA Hong Kong. He will lead best-of-breed payment services, combining Japan and Hong Kong teams.

Shinichiro Nishikawa will be appointed as Head of ASEAN Business Group in GP&S Division in NTT DATA HQ, remaining executives in VietUnion and iPay88. He will lead country tailored local best services, leveraging each payment group companies’ solutions.

Junya Kawamoto will be appointed as Head of Global Business Strategy Office, managing all the payment group companies’ alignment and handing strategic alliances to accelerate further growth.

Akihiro Ishizuka will be appointed as President and CEO of NTT DATA Hong Kong, remaining Head of GP&S Division. He will succeed from Junya Kawamoto, and by aligning with NTT DATA HQ and NTT DATA Hong Kong’s global payment hub, he will push more comprehensive and innovate payment services to global and regional merchants.

Lastly, Kenichiro Honda contributed strong leadership as Head of Global Payment Group mainly for Japanese merchants and support for Japan payment methods. He will be moved to a strategic position in Paygent, recently acquired by NTT DATA.
